YMCA Skate Night
Every Friday night from 7:30
to
9:45 pm
our Hockey Rink on Bertha Street
is opened by the YMCA for a public open skate.
Skate to music.
The cost is $3.00 per person.
This is a great way for your
child
to learn to skate.
The concession stand is
open
for skate night
and has drinks, snacks, and food
for sale.

Southernmost Hockey Club Scholarship
For many years, the Southernmost Hockey Club awarded a $500
scholarship to a graduating senior at Key West High School.
The scholarship was raised to $750 in 2003.
In 2004 the Key West High School Roller Hockey Club
added $250 to bring the scholarship to $1000.
The $1000 award was made
during
Class Night May 2004.
In 2004 it was presented to
Daniel
Padron.
He will be attending the
University
of South Florida next year.
Daniel was an original member of
the Youth League in 1995.

To be elgible for this
scholarship,
the applicant must have
a cumulative grade point average
of 3.25 or an SAT score of 950 or higher.
The applicant must have
participated
in the Southernmost Hockey Club as a hockey player.
An essay is also required.

November 2004 to make it mandatory for youth inline hockey players in
Key
West to wear hip pads or padded hockey pants.
